A puppy that was found with a hairband tightly tied around her muzzle was brought to a shelter that does not euthanize animals. The poor pup had clearly been mistreated.
The hairband had deeply embedded itself, reaching the bone and causing severe swelling that made her face three times larger. However, Cincinnati Animal CARE came to her rescue and provided immediate medical attention by removing the hairband and stitching up the massive wound. The shelter staff affectionately named her Tiffany after their beloved 80s pop artist.
According to speculation, the hairband was used to prevent the puppy from making noise, much like zip ties are commonly used. The animal center’s disturbing Facebook updates uncovered the severe level of mistreatment.
The rescue crew praised Tiffany for her brave attitude during her emergency care and reported that she spent the night with a medical team member. Recent updates have mentioned that Tiffany is currently recovering well, maintaining proper eating and drinking habits, and receiving care from the Good Samaritan who discovered her.
Tiffany’s facial swelling has significantly reduced, and she is currently recuperating after her wounds were stitched up. Cincinnati Animal CARE is asking the public for help in locating Tiffany’s abuser, and PETA has also offered a reward for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest. Those with knowledge of the situation can contact Hamilton County Dog Wardens at 513-541-7387.
Tiffany’s most recent news is here! According to the Facebook page of Cincinnati Animal CARE, the lovely lady paid a visit to the shelter yesterday. Her stitches appear great, and she is recuperating excellently. Moreover, she is thriving in her foster home with the caring individuals who entrusted her to us!
